Spa Sanctuary is owned & operated by diploma-trained beauty therapist Kristy Thompson, who brings more than 20 years’ experience to the business.
Kristy undertook her beauty training in Fiji, having fallen in love with the tropical islands as a young girl, when her family moved to Lae in Papua New Guinea when she was seven.
Kristy moved to Suva, Fiji, after high school, to undertake her international Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Kristy completed all aspects of her beauty & spa training in Fiji, working in some of the island’s best salons & spas. She developed a passion for creating a tropical retreat for clients, where they had the chance to unwind in a warm, comfortable atmosphere.
Since then, Kristy has worked & trained in salons and spas across Australia, including Cullen Bay Day Spa in Darwin, where she also trained other therapists, the five-star luxury spa The Phoenician on the Gold Coast & in Sydney, before opening her own salon in Mudgee in 2018.
Spa Sanctuary is inspired by Kristy’s time in Fiji & her deep love for the Fijian culture & its people.
Her space aims to provide all the best of a traditional tropical spa experience - a place where clients can truly escape, relax & unwind. Her brand & salon aesthetic pay homage to her tropical roots, with the frangipani at the heart of the design.
